Cheating case against Bappi Lahiri
Renowned music director Bappi Lahiri and his associate Babu Haldar has been charged with fraud, breach of trust and cheating to the extent of Rs 4 lakh. One Mr. Soumitra Biswas has filed a petition to this effect in Court of a principal metropolitan magistrate of Calcutta. The petitioner alleged that Mr. Lahiri took Rs 4 lakh to pay for the air fare for British Rock Artist Samantha Fox who was to come to Calcutta from London to perform in a function. Though Samantha could not come Mr. Lahiri has not returned the money yet.
